Brendan Ploen is a freelance sports reporter. He is a regular contributor for The Denver Post and is currently the beat reporter covering the Colorado Rapids, high school and college sports.
He previously worked for The Durango Herald, located in the Four Corners Region, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel and Marquette Wire.
After graduating with a degree in journalism from Marquette University in Milwaukee in 2018, he moved to Durango, Colorado, where he covered everything from a high school girl's basketball team's grassroots campaign to support Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women on the Southern Ute Reservation and the Southwest, to detailing turmoil and department changes within a cash-strapped NCAA Division II college athletic program. He reported on sports such as archery, BMX, cycling, world-class whitewater canoeing, skiing and even rodeo.
